Complete Integration

More businesses today are realizing the huge advantage of having completely integrated software.

Comsense Inc. has always believed that the most effective use of software is to offer a completely integrated package.  By having one software system for your entire business you have many advantages For example consider the following with two software systems:

  1. With two or more software systems you have to write programs that will allow these two to talk with one another.  In technical terms these are referred to as bridges.  Bridges are expensive to build and difficult to maintain.
  2. If you don’t build a bridge with two or more software systems then you must have a person in the middle taking information from one system and putting it in another.  You and I know that the potential for errors increases exponentially when you add the human factor.
  3. Two or more software systems means two or more phone calls to two or more companies that can result in two or more answers and two or more fingers pointing at two or more people.

One system front to back. The idea is simple and the thinking sound.  One system front to back.  As you roll the phrase over and over again in your head it makes sense doesn’t it.  Try this picture on for size:

  1. A specification is written in SpecWriter and sent to the architect in their format via Microsoft Word.
  2. The architect then sends the specification out for bid.  You know the specification writer who wrote the spec and they send you an e.mail with the specification attached that you then import into your Advantage system.
  3. You now use Advantage to quickly estimate the doors and frames and modify the hardware to match the most recent drawing from the architect.

(Use the Elevations plug in to draw and price frames and draw door elevations, and create shop drawings.)

You also use Advantage to request quotes, record issued quotes and associated quote numbers that will later be sent with the PO to the manufacturer.

Send the bid to the contractor electronically, by fax, or snail mail.
  4. After winning the bid you continue to use Advantage to detail the project, which is simple because you have 90% of the information already entered.
  5. Now you start using the Enterprise portion of the software to issue PO’s, track receipts and shipments of product, check inventory levels, schedule shop labor based capacity, run real time profit comparisons from estimating to detailing, track commissions by sales person or territory, sell from the counter, and the list goes on and on.
  6. Look at how change orders are effecting your profit margins as they happen and see your business in real time.
  7. No batching or posting; all accounting transactions are recorded in real time.
  8. Because Comsense Inc. provides the most comprehensive e.Catalogs, products are ordered consistently every time and for some manufacturers products are ordered electronically.
  9. The customer is happy because they get their product, you are happy to have another sale.  Life is beautiful all around.

One system front to back.  It’s too simple.

e.Catalog Update

by Neil Teas, AHC – Director of Catalog Development

One software system front to back, requires the most comprehensive software catalogs in the industry.  Without the complete integration of e.Catalogs you spend as much money and more time managing price books.

e.Catalog by Comsense Inc. have no equals.  Manufacturers continue to rely on the consistency and customers continue to rely on the simplicity of the integration.

e.Catalog Cuts by Comsense Inc. also gives you the ability to pick out the parts of the catalog page you want to print rather than printing the entire page and still having to revisit the page to circle, highlight, and underline.

The e.Catalog department of Comsense Inc. continues to expand our offering, increase our speed, and improve our accuracy, in fact, be on the look out for Image CD #6 which is being shipped this month.

If at any time you notice product missing from any of the e.Catalogs please send me an e.Mail with the product information so I can get it added.  My e.Mail address is neil.teas@comsenseinc.com

Until next month chew on the phrase “One System Front to Back” isn’t that sweet.

Did You Know…

Though published in previous e.News this information is worth repeating.  Did you know that Advantage comes with a diagram tool in which you can attach product templates, wiring diagrams, point to point diagrams, pictures and whatever else you want to a hardware set.
