Training – The Difference
Upgrading and/or changing your software systems also has an impact on your business. Through out 2003 Comsense Inc. will be offering regional trainings around the nation. Advantage for Windows™ now gives you the ability to change a short description at will. You can do this when creating a list of product for a project either on a particular product globally or in individual hardware sets. To change the short description for a product in the hardware window do the following: 1. Right click on the product short description you wish to change 2. Click on modify short description from the menu that appears. 3. Enter the new short description name in the Alternate Name field. 4. If you want the new short description as the permanent name click on Save as Default Description. 5. Also if you want the new short description name to apply to the product in all hardware sets then click in the box next to “Apply this change to all hardware in this project.” Coming up before the next e.News, we will have available three new hollow metal databases, Mesker, de La Fontaine and Kewanee. There are more in the works as well.
Program Updates
There are many enhancements in this version of the software and listed below are some of the more prominent ones: 1. In the door and frame take off windows the drop down menus are self expanding so you can see all product information 2. Also in the door and frame take off window if you prefer to keep your hands on the key board you can use the tab key and the first letter or number of the product attribute to move quickly between fields 3. Wanting to assign a hardware set to an opening but can’t remember which specific hardware set applies… now you can search for a hardware set simply by entering all or part of the manufacturers catalog number(s) and the list will be immediately filtered based on the criteria you choose to provide. 4. After making changes in the complete opening window you can rebuild the opening description by clicking on the pencil button on the tool bar. 5. You can quickly see your current e.Catalog price book subscriptions by clicking on Tools > System Administration > Manufacturer Selection. Each month the Program Updates section of the e.News letter will contain information on the most current version of the software and enhancements that have been made.

product short descriptions consistent in e.Catalog databases is sometimes
difficult. There are many products in our database that, although they have
the same product number, they require a short description to suit a
particular application such as,
