Comsense Inc. Continues to Lead The number of customers using software tools by Comsense Inc. increased 23% in the last 10 months and Comsense Inc. continues to grow and maintain the dominate lead in providing software tools for the door, frame, and hardware industry. When asked why Comsense Inc. has prospered in what apparently is a struggling economy, Wayne Teas, President and founder of Comsense Inc. responded, “When you have the best products and the best people you will succeed in any economy.” Wayne also touted the innovative cost cutting solutions that have recently been implemented at Comsense Inc. “We use technology to better our own business as well as helping others better their business.” When asked about Enterprise Wayne said, “This will be one of the most revolutionary products to hit the door, frame, and hardware industry. Our customers have come to expect the best products from Comsense Inc. and Enterprise lives up to that expectation.” Wayne concluded by saying that, “Comsense Inc. will continue its dominate lead in this industry because we provide solid solutions and complete software integration. No other software product in our industry can claim this level of integration.” Comsense Inc. has been providing software solutions for the door hardware industry for over 13 years and continues to build software that bridges the gap between architect, manufacturer, and distributor. Did You Know… Advantage comes with a diagram tool in which you can attach product templates, wiring diagrams, point to point diagrams, pictures and whatever else you want to a hardware set. The diagram tool can be accessed through the hardware takeoff window. Click on the third button from the left and a window will open that allows you to coordinate diagrams with hardware sets. To ad a new diagram click on the "create new diagram" button which is the fifth button from the left and has a new page picture on it. The diagram tool opens and you can create or copy and paste from other projects, pictures, documents, or websites. You can add templates, door pictures, product pictures, wiring diagrams, wiring elevation diagrams, etc. Once you create and save the information you can access it again and again from any project. Program Updates The most current version of the Opening Suite by Comsense Inc. which includes SpecWriter, Advantage, and Elevations is 1.01.0190. There are many enhancements in this version of the software and listed below are some of the more prominent ones: 1. Import from Excel You can import a door schedule from Excel including the hand and description of the opening. When you get a door schedule from an Architect, after formatting, you can import it into estimating or detailing in Advantage. This will save you the time of having to enter door information. Call customer support for more details regarding this feature. 2. In the door take-off an option at the bottom of the window has been added that, when checked, will show only valid attributes as you build a door or a frame. 3. The complete opening window has been added to estimating. This will give users the ability to have one window to coordinate doors, frames, and hardware when working on a negotiated job. After the job is estimated much of the work for detailing will all ready be complete, greatly decreasing the amount of time spent on the detailing phase. 4. Heading Builder Maintenance has been expanded to two tabs. One to identify the grouping criteria and a second to define the sort sequence of the openings. 5. Right click on a product in the pricing window and choose show associated opening numbers to see every opening where that product is used.
