Instructions downloading/installing New Certificate

Downloading

  • Click to open the #NewCertificate folder and  then right click the NewCertificate.zip then select Save Target As…

 

  • Download to your common folder location.  On standalone systems this is located at ‘C:\Program Files\Comsense\Common by default, but may have been altered during the install.  On networked systems, this location is defined by the administrator that installed the server portion of the application.  You must contact the administrator to find out this location.  An example network location would be ‘\\MyServer\Common’
  • When the certificate has downloaded, close your internet browser and then open Windows Explorer and browse to your common folder and  right click the NewCertificate.zip file and choose
    • WinZip and then the option to Extract to here
    • or
    • Extract All

 

  • The extraction will confirm the file overwrite, choose Yes to All
  • Log out of the internet.

Installation per workstation

Deleting the expired certificate

  • Click Start > Settings > Control Panel
  • Double click on the icon for the Internet Options
  • Click on the tab Content tab then the Certificate button

  • Click on the Trusted Root Certification and you will get a list of certificates and scroll down to the Comsense Inc. entry and click on it to highlight it then click on Remove

Installing the new Comsense.cer certificate

  • While still inside the Certificates screen click on Import button.

  • This will open the Certificate Import Wizard click on Next
  • Click on the Browse button and browse to the common folder and select Comsense.cer and then click on Open and then click on Next

  • Select Automatically select the certificate store based on the type of certificate then click Next
  • Then click Finish

  • A  message will appear stating that the Import Was Successful click OK

  • Now click Close and then OK on the Internet Options

Installing the new Comsense.Dot

  • Browse to your common folder and  right click the Comsense.Dot and chose Copy and then browse to your C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\Office12\Startup (you may only have Office11 and therefore use that folder instead) and right click and Paste, you will be asked if you want to overwrite the file, click Yes
